Conclave and Piece By Piece Receive Festival Applause
Morgan Neville’s documentary and Edward Berger’s thriller premiered at Telluride and TIFF.
Two upcoming films—Conclave and Piece By Piece—internationally premiered at Toronto International Film Festival after debuting at Telluride Film Festival.
Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville’s documentary Piece By Piece—in theaters October 11—is a joyous exploration of the life of Pharrell Williams, told through LEGO animation. Festival goers were thrilled by the sheer fun and inventiveness of the film, as well as its cast of Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, and Snoop Dogg.
Having seen the film in Telluride, Awards Daily wrote, “Piece By Piece is an upbeat, feel-good experience, and an ideal way to launch Telluride 51.” The Guardian wrote from Toronto that the movie is “a hilarious, propulsive and disarmingly joyous ride” that “deserves to be a blockbuster.”
Audiences also were captivated by Conclave—in theaters October 25—Edward Berger’s thriller that follows the behind-closed-door suspense of a Papal election, with unforgettable performances by Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Isabella Rossellini.
