Decca Records, in partnership with Focus Features, announces the long-awaited vinyl release of the PRIDE & PREJUDICE soundtrack, due on June 27. The soundtrack, composed by Dario Marianelli and performed by Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the English Chamber Orchestra, was recently praised as an “astounding score that elevates the narrative,” emphasizing its lasting impact 20 years in.
PRIDE & PREJUDICE: Music From The Motion Picture will include two vinyl formats— the standard vinyl re-issue of the original soundtrack with original artwork, and the newly designed 20th Anniversary deluxe edition which includes a 16-page booklet and rare photos from the film’s production. This will be available in black vinyl and a special D2C-exclusive mauve vinyl. Pre-order here.
The PRIDE & PREJUDICE film soundtrack has officially reached RIAA GOLD® Certification. Speaking on the continued success of the soundtrack, Dario Marianelli says: “Pride & Prejudice remains one of my happiest collaborations—and my first with Joe Wright. Some of the music was written even before filming began, inspired by a vibrant screenplay and, of course, by Austen’s timeless novel. It was brought to life by Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the English Chamber Orchestra over a few unforgettable days at Air Lyndhurst, my favourite studio in the world. I’m truly grateful to Decca for reissuing a work I still hold close.”
Jean-Yves Thibaudet adds: “Dario Marianelli is an extraordinary composer, and his work on Pride & Prejudice is absolutely phenomenal. This score has opened so many doors, not just for me, but for fans around the world. I can’t tell you how many times someone who has never attended a classical music concert before has told me, after a performance, that they came because they recognized my name from Pride & Prejudice! That this film, and this music, brings people so much joy twenty years later is cause for celebration. I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this!"
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2025, the Jane Austen adaptation by Focus Features was a global hit with audiences of all ages and earned four Academy Award® nominations, becoming one of the most beloved romance films of all time.
Originally released in 2005, from acclaimed director Joe Wright and writer Deborah Moggach, PRIDE & PREJUDICE grossed over $122 million at the global box office. The film’s cast includes Keira Knightley, Matthew Macfadyen, Judi Dench, Donald Sutherland, Brenda Blethyn, and Rosamund Pike, as well as Carey Mulligan in her film debut.
Adapted from Jane Austen’s timeless masterwork, PRIDE & PREJUDICE brings a modern sensibility to one of the greatest love stories of all time. When Elizabeth Bennet (Knightley) meets the handsome Mr. Darcy (Mathew Macfadyen), she believes he is the last man on earth she could ever marry. But as their lives become intertwined, she finds herself captivated by the very person she swore to loathe for all eternity. It is a classic tale of love and misunderstanding that sparkles with romance, wit, and emotional force.
On May 22, PRIDE & PREJUDICE will host a 20th Anniversary ball. Details and tickets are available here.
