Did you know The Phoenician Scheme was shot on 35mm celluloid? And did you know that celluloid contains millions of microscopic silver crystals in the emulsion that coats the film strip? From The Silver Screen reclaims the silver during film processing at Cinelab Film and Digital and upcycles it into luxury jewelry.

Limited to just 100 pieces, due to the finite nature of this precious silver, these grenade pendants are both literally and metaphorically “a piece of film history.” Each piece is hand finished before the serial numbers are engraved on the neck of the pendant.

Wes Anderson is synonymous with meticulous visual storytelling, and we’re so excited for this collaboration to transform that signature style into wearable art with genuine cinematic provenance. Wes Anderson personally approved the collaboration and the design and received the very first pendant after the film’s premiere at Cannes.

From The Silver Screen was founded in 2021 when we were working together at Pinewood Studios for an indie film company. During a Kodak lab tour, we were gobsmacked by the revelation that silver is a byproduct of film processing. We were even more shocked to hear that the silver was currently being lost to the silver trade, stripped of all its cinematic significance.

We knew instantly we wanted to do something that allowed the silver to retain its story. We decided to create something that meant film lovers could literally wear a piece of their favorite film (assuming it was shot on film).

Each piece is hand finished before the serial numbers are engraved on the neck of the pendant.

With amazing support from Cinelab Film & Digital, during the Covid furlough times, we developed a proprietary process to ethically reclaim, refine, and reforge the silver into sterling jewelry, handcrafted in London’s historic Hatton Garden. Every piece is hallmarked at the Goldsmith’s Company Assay Office and stamped with our signature, certifying both quality and origin.

To our knowledge, nobody else in the world is doing this. This is the first ever jewelry collection with fully traceable silver provenance to a single film title, fusing sustainable design with cinematic storytelling.

So help yourself to a hand grenade and get yours today to wear a piece of a Wes Anderson film!
